Between March 20 and April 30 participating libraries will be accepting non-perishable food donations on behalf of Gleaners as they work together to help those in need in many communities throughout southeast Michigan!

Hop on over to Bunnyville at the Detroit Zoo, from 9 AM - 3PM on April 19th and 20th. An “eggstravaganza” of family fun is planned for the Detroit Zoo’s annual Bunnyville celebration, featuring games, crafts, live entertainment, and zookeeper talks!
No one should face hunger during the giving season. Join us in making a small difference every day, by making a donation and rounding up the change on your purchases to the nearest dollar for hungry neighbors.
According to recent research from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), more than 13 million children in the United States live in food insecure homes, the long-term effects of which can have a detrimental effect on the bodies, minds, and behavior of children.
Collaborative Discussions on Food Insecurity
Hosted by Dr. Phillip Knight, Executive Director of the Food Bank Council of Michigan, the show ‘Food for Thought’ is scheduled to air on Sunday nights at 8:00 PM after the Agriculture Report on News/Talk 760 AM WJR. Gerry Brisson, Chair of the Board of the Food Bank Council of Michigan, and President of Gleaners Community Food Bank will co-host the show. Topics include “Who’s Hungry,” “Spotlight on Senior Hunger,” and “Tools in the Anti-Hunger Tool Box – Creating the Safety Net”.
