Henry Ford Hospital Department of Nursing in collaboration with Gleaners Community Food Bank will host its second annual "Power Up Detroit With Protein" food drive.

Kick-Off Event: 
Friday, February 24 
6:30 - 8:30 am - HFHS Hospital lobby
Putting for Peanut Butter
Bring any size jar peanut butter in exchange for a chance to putt for extra protein points.

The unit/area with the most points per FTE will be the 2017 Protein Champions!

12 oz jar = 7 points
15-16 oz jar =9 points
26 oz jar = 15 points
40 oz jar = 23 points
48 oz jar =28 points
64 oz jar = 32 points

Canned tuna     

Canned Tuna, Albacore, Salmon or Chicken

2.6 oz pouch = 1 point
5 oz can = 2 points
7 oz can = 3 points
12 oz can = 4 points
66.5 oz can = 24 points


Ensure, Boost and store brand Nutritional Protein Drinks

8 oz bottle = 1 point

11 oz bottle = 2 points


Power Up Days: 

Friday, Feb. 24 - Putting for Peanut Butter
Join us in the HFHS Hospital lobby 6:30-8:30 am to earn 10 points for your team by making a hole in one on our putting green. Admission is a jar of peanut bar. One play per person.

Tuesday, Feb. 28 - Tuna Tuesday
Bring in tuna today to earn double the points for your team.

Thursday, Mar. 2 - Thirsty Thursday
Bring in Boost, Ensure or store brand nutritional protein drinks on this day and receive triple points!

Employees who volunteer earns 30 points for their team!

9 - 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017 (sign up by Feb. 20)
1 - 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2016 (sign up by Feb. 27)

 30 spots are available for each shift. Each employee who volunteers may bring up to two guests. Only the employee will earn the 30 points for their unit. Guests must be 10 years of age or older. Time at Gleaners is not considered work time. Employees who would like to volunteer, but are scheduled to work, must submit a time off request and make appropriate arrangements with their manager.
