Drive Out Hunger is Gleaners Community Food Bank’s new campaign to collect food to feed our hungry neighbors. Through the generosity of Ford Motor Company and the Suburban Collection, Gleaners has four Transit Connect vans that we can use for food pickups and drop offs. These vans mean we no longer have to send one of our full size trucks and incur the expense for gas and drivers, leaving more dollars for those in need.
Many local businesses, schools and groups have taken our “Fill The Van” challenge and organized a food drive to collect enough food to fill one of our Transit Connect vans. Below is a list of our “Fill The Van Champions”, groups who collected more than 1000 pounds of food for our hungry neighbors!
