The 11th Annual Iron Chef competition took place at Bordine's Nursery in Brighton on August 6th. More than 600 guests enjoyed an evening of great food, friends, and a little friendly competition.
Chef Eirik Kauserud of La Vita Bistro in Pinckney defeated challenger Chef Jamie Crozier of 2FOG's Pub in Howell. Both chefs created an appetizer, entrée, and dessert with a ‘secret ingredient’ (Kohlrabi).
For the second year, the 2015 Iron Chef event also featured a Mixology competition, a head-to-head battle between local Mixologists Joe Silvestri of The Pound! Bar & Grill, and Dani Borden of Diamonds Steak and Seafood to create the best cocktail, including a secret ingredient (Rosemary), in 5 minutes!
A panel of 3 judged the flavorful concoctions, and declared Dani Borden as our undefeated Mixology Competition Champion.
