Cars & Coffee: Car Enthusiasts Start Their Weekend Together Benefitting Gleaners Community Food Bank

WIXOM– Car enthusiasts are invited to start each summer weekend enjoying auto “show and tell” at Lingenfelter Cars & Coffee.  Each Saturday morning, June 4 – August 27, Lingenfelter’s North Engine Build Facility in Wixom will open its doors and parking to the public. As in years past, the location will be the gathering spot for hundreds of car lovers, travelling from near and far, to show off their auto designs and see the latest and greatest in performance cars from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.

“When we introduced the Cars and Coffee series in 2014, we were not sure what to expect,” said Ken Lingenfelter, owner Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.  “We are so pleased that the car-loving community has embraced the series and that the reach of the event continues to grow.  We are looking forward to starting our weekends with discussion on innovations in design and performance with our guests.”

Lingenfelter Cars & Coffee will be held rain or shine. While there is no fee to participate in the event, guests are asked to help reach the C & C Series goal of donating enough food and dollars to serve 50,000 meals through Gleaners Community Food Bank.  Nonperishable food items and monetary donations will be accepted on-site.  June 4 will kick off the series by asking visitors to fill the Gleaners truck with nonperishable breakfast food. Online donations can be made at www.gcfb.org/carsandcoffee.

Gleaners is one of the oldest food banks in the country and has been serving hungry people for almost 40 years.  Last year, Gleaners distributed more than 34.5 million pounds of food to hungry neighbors. This translates to more than 78,000 meals per day.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and display their personalized cars and meet other car buffs from the community and around the country.  Registration will be open for guests to enter to win a set of Continental tires and other promotions throughout the summer. Updates on weekend special activities and featured cars from the Lingenfelter Collection will be posted on their Facebook page and website:  www.lingenfelter.com.
