At Gleaners, we are so inspired by our supporters who are dedicated to improving the lives of Michiganders. Together, we reinforce each other’s mission and find ways to build upon the services we provide.
In the face of COVID-19, the Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) is offering profound support for those working to help our neighbors in need. The DDF created a COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund to offer support for safety-net dental clinics and nonprofits who work with vulnerable populations to provide health services and food assistance in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
Gleaners is honored to receive $10,000 in support of our emergency response efforts, including ongoing School Food Mobiles and new drive-up food distributions. In addition, the DDF has committed to distributing hundreds of toothbrushes and oral hygiene information cards to our guests.

Education plays a large role in Gleaners’ mission to nourish our community. Each year, our food education programs teach thousands of kids, families and seniors life skills, including cooking and gardening. These programs help our guests deepen their relationships with healthy food, stretch their budgets and develop lifelong healthy eating habits. The support Gleaners received from the DDF will offer tools and educational information on oral hygiene—helping nourish our community in new ways!
