This August, the Indian American community celebrates and commemorates 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements. We congratulate the Indian Diaspora and thank them for the millions of nutritious meals they have enabled through the HungerMitao (wipe out hunger) movement for food challenged children, seniors, veterans, and families in need across America.

For the entire month of India’s Independence, HungerMitao has committed to raising at least $10,000 in support of recolectores’ vision to end hunger in southeast Michigan. Thanks to a generous match by Citizens and other donors we are able to provide SIX meals for every dollar donated. With our enormous purchasing power, Gleaners can stretch our donated dollars to procure whatever food is needed most.
