2024 Hunger Free Summer Food Fight!

Join us for the 30th Annual Hunger-Free Summer Food Fight, running from July 15 to August 30, 2024!
As Gleaners continues its mission of providing reliable food resources for our communities, your participation in this annual event can make a real difference for our neighbors in Southeast Michigan. This friendly competition brings together organizations across our region to raise much-needed meals and funds to support families facing food insecurity.
Summer can be especially tough for children and families grappling with food insecurity, made worse by rising grocery prices in recent years. Many parents are struggling to afford nutritious food for their kids, leaving them wondering how they’ll put meals on the table. But with your help, we can ensure that kids and families have the nutrition they need to thrive throughout the summer and beyond.
Every dollar raised as part of fundraisers or virtual food drives will be doubled by Citizens Bank as part of the Hunger-Free Summer match campaign. Volunteering opportunities will be worked into this year’s competition, giving you and your team even more ways to get involved and make a difference.
The competition tiers this year are:
- Small businesses: Less than 50 local employees
- Medium-sized businesses: 50 to 250 local employees
- Large enterprises: More than 250 local employees
Our point structure this year is:
- 1 lb. of food = 1 point
- $1 = 3 points
- 1 volunteer shift = 50 points
