2026 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Since 1993, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) has hosted a nationwide food drive on the second Saturday in May. On this day, letter carriers collect non-perishable food donations while delivering mail along their routes, using the incredible reach of the postal network to put food on the table. It’s one of the toughest days of the year for these dedicated carriers, and their extra work helps stock local food pantries, making summer food assistance programs possible for countless families facing food insecurity.

Gleaners is proud to partner with post office branches across Southeastern Michigan to support our community. Since 2010, Gleaners and our neighboring agencies have received over 15.2 million pounds of food through these efforts, providing essential meals to our neighbors in need.

Simply leave your donation of non-perishable food in a bag near your mailbox on Saturday, May 9, and your letter carrier will do the rest.
