Spring into Action 2020: FOOD FIGHT!

Gleaners Community Food Bank exists to provide households with access to sufficient, nutritious food.  After the rush of the holidays, donations tend to slow down. Families in need continue to face the tough decision to heat or eat.

We’re calling on you and your organization to step up to the challenge and help. To rally community-wide support for our hungry neighbors in southeast Michigan, Gleaners will host the 5th annual Spring Into Action—Food Fight. Join us in our fight against hunger.

Your team will compete against other organizations to raise the most meals (this will include both food and monetary donations). Gleaners is here to help make it easy! We provide supplies, including boxes for non-perishable donations, canisters for monetary donations, a Virtual Food Drive for online donations, promotional materials, and help facilitating pick-up or delivery of your donations.

For the 2020 Food Fight, every dollar donated as part of your campaign will be matched by our generous sponsor, The Harold & Kay Matching Gift Fund. Each $1 donated will provide six meals.

In 2019, Spring Into Action collected more than 1,000 pounds of food and $4,100 to provide 13,159 meals for those in need. A special congratulations to the winners of last year’s fight:
