Mahler Madness

The Michigan Philharmonic brings you an afternoon of captivating, engaging and eclectic music, with classics from Mahler and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, mingled with new music from one of our favorite young composers and local star, Jessica Hunt.
Mahler’s pensive and beautiful Fourth Symphony was based on his own song, “The Heavenly Life”, referring to the awakening of joy in life. Performed in the beautiful acoustics of First United Methodist Church, Audrey Kline’s lyric soprano will soar as this piece shares a child’s view of heaven.
The Michigan Philharmonic is participating with the League of American Orchestras in “Orchestras Feeding America” campaign. We are partnering with Gleaners and will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items at this concert. Please consider helping with this drive!
