Gleaners is expanding our healthy food distributions throughout southeast Michigan. Our Fresh Market Pantry initiatives offer convenient access to fresh produce and dairy to anyone in need of food assistance. The new concept is reshaping emergency food distributions by focusing on more frequent drop-in hour access to a wider variety of nutritious foods.
Fresh Market at Shared Harvest Pantry
Gleaners’ first Fresh Market Pantry opened in August 2019 at our Shared Harvest Pantry in Livingston. The market provides free produce, milk, and eggs to food-insecure guests. Today, the market serves more than 150 families a week during our distributions.
“Having immediate access to fresh produce, during a time that works for their schedule, is changing lives.”—Roni Lundy, Livingston Operations Manager
