Gleaners hosts a variety of fundraising events throughout the year, anchored by our legacy event, the Women’s Power Breakfast, which is held in the spring annually and attracts 400 – 600 attendees.

Depending on the level, event sponsorship benefits may include:

  • Reserved seating for the event
  • Logo/name inclusion on mailed invitation, e-vite, press release, event-related social media marketing and promotional materials, and on dedicated event site
  • Dedicated sponsor recognition post on Gleaners e-Newsletter (sent to over 50,000 supporters each week)
  • Prominent signage at event
  • Full-page color advertisement in event program book

To learn more about event sponsorships, contact Angela Halverson, Director of Donor Engagement, at 313-308-0601 or ahalverson@gcfb.org.

Match Campaign Support

When corporate partners and the community come together through Gleaners’ match opportunities, funds raised have twice the impact toward solving hunger, providing millions of meals each year. Gleaners puts corporate dollars to work as a match incentive several times per year, encouraging community members to meet or exceed the goal amount. Visibility opportunities for match partners can include, but are not limited to:

  • Inclusion in our robust direct mail program, reaching a minimum audience of 50,000 Gleaners supporters per mailing
  • Appreciation in our promotional email program, reaching up to 66,000 dedicated Gleaners donors
  • Highlights and/or features on our website, which receives 350,000 unique visits each year
  • Recognition on Gleaners’ social media channels, reaching more than 70,000 followers in total
  • Participation in Southeast Michigan market media coverage

To learn more about match opportunities, contact Cory Joyrich, Director of Major Gifts and Corporate Partnerships, at 313.308.0616 or cjoyrich@gcfb.org.

Food and Fund Drive Support

Food drives are essential to Gleaners’ vision of ending hunger in Southeast Michigan. Last year, food and fund drives provided more than 4.7 million meals to families in need. We can help plan your food drive and provide you with all the supplies you’ll need!

Our three flexible food drive options make it easy for any group to plan a food drive that works for them:

  • Collect Food: Hosting a traditional food drive is a great way to get involved
  • Collect Funds: We can stretch your dollars further! Because of our enormous purchasing power, we can provide 3 meals for every dollar donated!
  • Host a Virtual Food Drive: Shop for the foods Gleaners needs most on a custom webpage created specifically for your organization. No bulky boxes or canned goods, and no need for transportation!

To learn more about hosting a food and fund drive, visit our Food & Fund Drives webpage or contact Bob Irland, Community Giving Manager, at 313.308.0628 or birland@gcfb.org.

CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering at Gleaners can be a great team-building exercise, and we love to brag on our corporate volunteers on social media! Gleaners relies on volunteers to sort and pack hundreds of thousands of pounds of food, from fresh fruit to frozen vegetables to canned goods and more. Volunteers also directly serve seniors, veterans, children, and others through our pantries and mobile distributions. Your generous donation of time and energy is vitally important.

To view our current volunteer opportunities, check out our Volunteer Center or contact Julie Ptasznik, Special Events Volunteer Coordinator, at 313.571.0381 or jptasznik@gcfb.org.

Payroll Deductions

Employee contribution programs can go a long way in support of our mission to end hunger. We can help you set up a payroll giving program in support of Gleaners Community Food Bank, and keep you posted on the impact you are helping to make in the community!

Corporate Gifts

If you would like to make a gift to Gleaners on behalf of your clients (in lieu of gifts or a holiday party, for example) we can create social media posts tagging your company, or we can create a ThankView (e-mail) video thanking the clients for enabling your business to make such an impactful gift.
