Mercado Food Hub Pantry

Mercado Food Hub at the Ford Resource and Engagement Center (FREC 1) is a client-choice pantry serving residents of southwest Detroit. Volunteer activities include helping clients select food, loading food into vehicles, stocking pantry shelves, and cleaning. Up to 14 volunteers needed per shift.

There is an urgent need for Spanish-speaking intake specialists. If you are fluent in Spanish, able to commit to a regular schedule and would like to be trained for this special position, contact Julie Ptasznik at jptasznik@gcfb.org.

Groups of youth must be age 14 or older with a minimum of 2 chaperones required.
