Mercado Food Hub Pantry

Mercado Food Hub at the Ford Resource and Engagement Center (FREC 1) is a drive-up pantry serving residents of southwest Detroit. Volunteer activities include helping load shopping carts indoors, and loading food into vehicles outdoors. 2 - 20 volunteers needed per shift depending on the type of shift.

There is an urgent need for Spanish-speaking intake specialists. If you are fluent in Spanish, able to commit to a regular schedule and would like to be trained for this special position, contact Julie Ptasznik at jptasznik@gcfb.org.

Please complete a shift request form and a Gleaners volunteer coordinator will contact you to schedule your shift.

Groups of youth must be age 14 or older with a minimum of 2 chaperones required.

Please contact us before scheduling your volunteer shift if you have any allergies.
