Throughout the pandemic, Gleaners has provided more than 2.5 million pounds of food to our most vulnerable neighbors in Livingston County. While this year offers new signs of hope, Feeding America projects that nearly nine percent of children in Livingston County are still at risk of facing hunger.

For one week only, our Iron Chef sponsors have stepped up and pooled their sponsorship dollars together to offer a match of up to $16,000! Double your impact today to support Gleaners’ work to provide sufficient, nutritious food to hungry neighbors in Livingston County, including children, families, seniors, and veterans.

YOUR DONATION IS AT WORK IN LIVINGSTON COUNTY

Gleaners is committed to addressing the root causes of food insecurity in Livingston County by identifying vulnerable populations, improving food access, reducing stigma, and leveraging partnerships.

“Gleaners has served as a beacon of hope for our hungry neighbors before, during, and after the pandemic – and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing community,” said Bridget Brown, Director of Food Secure Livingston at Gleaners. “All proceeds from our Iron Chef Match Challenge will help sustain our mobile food distributions across Livingston County, as well as our special programs like Fresh Market at Shared Harvest Pantry.”

Here are just some of the many ways your donation will support Gleaners' work in Livingston County:

  • Fresh Market at Shared Harvest Pantry: Currently a drive-up model due to the pandemic, this program brings convenience and dignity to emergency food services. Providing fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh milk, eggs, and bakery items to families on a more frequent basis has helped close the food gap and provide children and their families the food they need for success. Fresh Market at Shared Harvest Pantry is our solution in Livingston County for families to have these items on a weekly basis without cost and without an appointment, during evening hours to decrease the burden and increase access for working adults.
  • Livingston Distribution Center expansion: Gleaners has expanded its warehouse facility at 5924 Sterling Drive in Howell and purchased a new refrigerated van for use in Livingston County. These improvements are crucial for increasing fresh produce and fresh milk distribution across the community, including emergency food distributions and mobile deliveries.

**Video recorded pre-pandemic, current model is drive-through; all product and services are the same.
